History of Eastbourne Electric Car Club
Established in the early 70's by a number of RC enthusiasts, EECC has evolved over the years moving with the changes to the hobby to rest with the venue which now supports touring car racing and other 1/10th scale electric models.
The purpose built outdoor track was completed in 2007 and has played host to the STCC, SLCC, BTCC and BRCA championships in addition to the club's annual open day which often attracts some of the greatest racers in the country.
The club was founded in 70's racing buggies and during the 1980s achieved a reputation for hosting top class regional buggy championships. Many of those early members have stayed with the club and now enjoy racing in the same familiar surroundings whilst competing in scale saloon touring car racing within a relaxed, welcoming, environment which is family friendly, yet at the same time offering top quality competition for drivers young and old who often compete on the club's behalf at regional or national championship races.
